Join us in a bundle dyeing workshop and learn how to use flowers to create a unique print on your own silk scarf.
Christiana Vardakou, natural dyer from Athens, Greece will teach you the process of using botanical dyes from Secret Garden’s fresh flowers to create herbal infused prints. The print forms when the plant transfers its colour onto the fabric. A lot of patterns can be created with the use of different folding or rolling styles. The results are very unpredictable and therefore this is a great opportunity for us to play and experiment!
In this workshop we will talk a bit about natural dyes (not about the dyeing process), about the fabric choices, about how mordants work as well as eco-printing and the different ways of folding and rolling.
Each student will have the opportunity to print on a 100% silk scarf.
